The Federation of the Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture held an emergency meeting at the headquarters of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday, July 14, 2025. 130 members from different chambers in the northern governorates attended the meeting, in addition to members in the southern governorates fromthe Gaza Strip who joined via Zoom.
Mr. Abd Al-Ghani Attari, Chairman of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Chamber of Commerce opened the meeting with welcoming remarks, followed by Mr. Abdo Idris, Chairman of the Federation, who discussed many topics including the Federation’s achievements and activities at the local and international levels. Mr. Idris also stressed the challenges facing the Palestinian economy in general and the situation in the West Bank due to the siege and checkpoints. There are currently more than 900 checkpoints and iron gates cutting off the West Bank, not to mention the daily attacks by settlers, which have led to a decline in economic performance, high rates of unemployment and poverty, and the obstruction of supply chains.
In return, the memebrs of the chambers reiterated the unity of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and their importance in supporting the national economy and serving the Palestinian people in all governorates, and in cooperation and integration with all private sector institutions, especially the members in the General Federation of Palestinian Industries. The members of the chambers concluded in authorizing the Federation President to do everything necessary to preserve the existence of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture and to make the necessary decisions.
