Mr. Abdel Ghani Al-Attari, President of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, participated, as part of a delegation from the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, in the extraordinary session meetings of the Council of the Union of Arab Chambers, which were held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with broad participation from representatives of Arab chambers and the Arab private sector.
The Palestinian delegation included: Mr. Abdo Idris, President of the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture; Mr. Tareq Shawer, President of the Qalqilya Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Tayseer Humaidi, President of the Jericho and Al-Aghwar Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Fathi Qishta, President of the Rafah Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Khairy Al-Masri, President of the Khan Younis Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Mr. Abdullah Al-Satri, Vice President of the Rafah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Al-Attari’s participation came within the framework of strengthening the presence of the Palestinian private sector in Arab economic forums and discussing ways to develop joint Arab economic and trade cooperation, especially in light of the economic and political challenges facing the region.
The Palestinian delegation also participated in a number of official meetings and discussions with Arab and Egyptian officials, during which the importance of supporting the Palestinian economy and strengthening the resilience of private sector institutions was emphasized, in addition to expanding areas of cooperation, investment, and Arab economic partnerships.
Al-Attari stressed the importance of enhancing Arab economic integration and activating the role of Arab chambers of commerce in supporting economic development and empowering the private sector. He also emphasized the need to open new horizons for economic cooperation in a way that contributes to enhancing economic and social stability in the region.
On the sidelines of the meetings, the Palestinian delegation held a series of meetings with several senior officials, during which opportunities for economic cooperation and the development of trade relations between Palestine and fellow Arab countries were discussed.
