Mr. Abdel Ghani Al-Attari, Chairman of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Vice Chairman Mr. Mohammad Zaid Al-Nabali, received at the Chamber’s headquarters Ms. Rula Shunnar, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Palestine Securities Exchange (“Palestine Exchange”), and Mr. Nihad Kamal, General Manager, along with the accompanying delegation. The meeting discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and the role of the stock exchange in supporting the national economy through an investment platform and gateway that supports the growth and development of companies.
During the meeting, Al-Attari emphasized the importance of the role of the Palestine Securities Exchange as a leading national institution, noting at the same time its role as an investment incubator characterized by transparency and security.
He also pointed to the importance of economic institutions keeping pace with modern developments in capital markets, which would positively reflect on empowering the private sector and enhancing its ability to grow and compete.
For his part, Al-Nabali reviewed the importance of strengthening partnerships with leading financial institutions, contributing to supporting economic activity and opening new horizons for investment in Palestine.
Meanwhile, Shunnar stressed the importance of this meeting and the subsequent meetings that will follow, aimed at deepening awareness of the role of the securities sector and the promising opportunities it offers, as well as its ability to provide investment tools within a regulated and well-governed environment in accordance with the best international standards.
She pointed out the need to intensify efforts in cooperation with partners to preserve the capabilities of the private sector, which constitutes the largest part of the national economy, especially large companies and family-owned businesses.
The meeting was also attended by members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors: Mr. Naji Al-Qadi, Eng. Mohammad Abdeen, Dr. Suha Khawaja, Mr. Hussam Qandil, and Mr. Saadi Al-Khalili.
